Bright white
Dawn’s sun streamed through the window, first orange then gold,
As mornings light took hold, and the new day began to unfold.
Outside was winter white, snow had fallen again overnight,
Giving traveler’s to strain and the Child to delight.
The sky was a deep cold clear blue
Winter sun bright, but the air her warmth hardly knew.
The wind had dropped to a chill that was still
A blanket of white over lowlands and hills
To a walk ... and footprints in virgin snow
All is bright white, with a blue tint on show
The winter day short, fell to silent night
Still all was calm, still all was bright
Snow fakes fell softly on the cold winter’s eve
In the dark stillness, of a quiet to please
Then to reflect in a place that is warm
On the beauty of winter, when not in a storm
